The Club is not a concierge service. It is a quiet agreement between people who have never needed to explain why the engine note matters. When I arrive in Maranello, the door opens. That is all.

A driving weekend in the Dolomites — ten chassis, six countries, one route sheet. The route was hand-typed. The route sheet was on linen paper. This is the level of operation.

The Alpine route was closed to traffic for us. Nine kilometres of hairpins, dry tarmac, no one but the ten of us. I will not forget the downshifts echoing off the rock face.
